Following albums designed to soundtrack Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Doughnut Day, Halloween is the latest holiday to receive the hugely successful double album remix treatment.

I usually don't buy the "special edition"-type albums, But when I spotted this, I bought it. Great music compilation for this household, where we enjoy Halloween stuff all year round. Original recordings and great collection of songs. But I got this one before a week of DJing Halloween parties. Most of the songs included are typical Halloween fare that have been remixed to perfection.

This is a very solid collection of Halloween titles, and the track list speaks for itself.

So yeah, they got a ton of Halloween compilation albums, so what was left? I can honestly say this is the best Halloween album I've heard, but that's only because it's the ONLY remix Halloween album I've heard. This recording though succeeds as being a great compilation of odd Mash-Ups and Bootlegs you wouldn't normally find. I give this album the highest rating of the season because of it's originality and inclusion of such oddball delights. You WON'T find these songs on any other compilations, so it's a nice breath of fresh air. I didn't even know there were so many songs named Halloween.

Indeed, it's this randomness that makes the album such an intriguing listen. Unlike other similar compilations, which focus on the mainstream party hits that reenter the lower end of the charts every year, it appears that at least some imagination has gone into finding other Halloween-appropriate songs from sources you wouldn't particularly associate with the annual festival. Even better than the pop-based songs is the instrumental-ones, which feature some of the most iconic TV/film horror soundtracks alongside other classic '50s/'60s spooky songs ensuring that this Halloween compilation is definitely more treat than trick.
